Could there be a conspiracy?

I spend a lot of time online these days including my banking and bill paying. Last week, there were system-wide computer failures at Citibank, Yahoo, Etrade, and the resort where I booked my ski trip. BOA also went down briefly for maintainence and Microsoft announced a patch to a huge security hole.
